how do I change the heater fan motor on my 95/M Renault Espace? ?

How do I change the heater fan motor on my 95/M Renault Espace?
The heater does not seem to work, I have asked my local garage and they say that they have run a live to the heater and it still does not work Therefore according to them its not the switch or the resistor. they are quoting over £200 to do the job?
So any advice on, How I make sure of the diagnostic? Would a second hand part do the job? and how difficult is replacing the part? would be more than appreciated. Diolch/Thanks Pedro

Are there any advances on my original question?

Thanks James, but as you can see from my reply to your helpful post, there is apparently no life at all in my blower? how does this impact on your Maplins fuse suggestion?

I want to run a live feed to the heater myself, just to double check if the motor works.

I understand that I can use jumper wire's connecting one wire to ground and the other, to a battery voltage source.

What I can't see or quite understand, is where in/on the heater, do I connect the wires, can anyone help? or, does anybody know if an image exists on the net showing the location of the contacts on the heater side that I connect the wire's to?
I hope that makes some sense?
In anticipation, thanks for your help

Thanks James, I've seen this go to Maplins solution before, however I presume, that my blower does not work period!? - I presume that that's what the local garage meant when they said that they had run a live to the heater? blower? unit with no joy - diagnostic by them -new unit required - big job to remove the unit requiring removal of dashboard etc - hence cost of labour - plus cost to buy new unit - total cost £200 + Vat Ouch!

does the blower work at all?-if so its the resistor which is next to blower motor.Once you have removed the heater cover, then removed the whole box-you will need some long extension bars!!.On one side of the mars bar sized resistor is a thermal fuse-its these that go.take the whole thing to your local maplins.a new fuse is about 70p.Cut just the old fuse out as close to the fuse as u can(dont use a soldering iron!) and reattach using cable connectors-one on each end.the whole thing will take 2-3 hours but will save you a fortune
