Hi Mark, I'm sorry to bother you but I have a new problem with my till that I'm hoping you can resolve for me. Ever since I have reset Department 1 key the till is not adding up to the correct amount on the z reading. It is adding up the total sales of each transaction correctly the error is happening at the z reading - I know this because I have added up the sales manually (I had to do this to rule out the possibility of a thief). Every day it is £135 over what it should be. Can you help me please?

Hmm. that is very strange. I have never heard of them being an exact figure too much like that. The department setting that you changed should have nothing to do with totals. It might pay us to do a full reset and start again rather than trying to work out a tricky one like this.

At the end of the day, after the report has been printed,

Turn the key to Z/PGM and press SUBTOTAL.
It will print a prog report. KEEP THIS IN CASE WE NEED IT LATER!

Now, lift the printer cover, and remove one of the batteries from the battery compartment near the paper roll.
Turn the key to REG mode.
Turn the power off at the wall.
Leave the machine for about 20 to 30 minutes to make sure it discharges.
Turn it on at the wall.
Wait until it come back to normal display.
Put the battery back in.

The machine will now have returned to factory settings.
Try some sales and make sure they still print as you expect, then do a Z report, and see if it is correct.

Note: You will need to set the date and time. Let me know if you need help with this.
