how do i reprogramme my remote key for ford galaxy?

I have just replaced the battery in my remote key fob on ford galaxy 2000. But noe the central locking wont work please can anyone help

1)close all doors and windows
2)unlock 3 times led in door will light
3)press and hold the lock feature on remote and push the unlock button 3 times
4)the door led will blink 6 times fast
5)the led on your remote will blink 5 times
this procedure is also described in your car manual
