what blows a thermostats in tumble dryers?

I have a Hotpoint TDC60 Condenser Tumble Dryer and I've recently replaced the Theromostats because it was blowing cold air. It worked fine for about a week and now I have the same problem again with it blowing cold air. Is something blowing the theromstats and if so, what to look for and replace ?

Thanks for you help

New heater relay worked a treat.

My TDC60 blew the thermostats recently, which I replaced, only to have them blow again.

Ive finally tracked the problem down to the heater relay on the main board which has failed in the ON position.

The result being that the heater is on ALL the time, even when the door is open.

A main board is £100, however i have sourced the same 16A relay from farnell (RS also have them) for £3. You will neet to be handy with a soldering iron though, as this is not a consumable part.

Not fitted it yet, will update when it arrives.

Got exactly the same problem in my Hotpoint TDC60. Asked an engineer who said that the machine should be left to run it's cycle or it should be switched to the fan symbol which would run the blowers until the elements cooled down. Apparently this will stop the heat conducting through the metal parts and blowing the thermostats. Having said that it happened again within a week. Does any body have the answer please? Is there an exhaust thermostat? Is there a module which should control the heat output (only heats when the drum spins one way)? I have picked all this up from other forums. Also that if it is a faulty part Hotpoint will replace it free if machine is less than five years old - but they probably charge a fortune for the work? Please help if you can.
