R/E.spark on 3.5 hp mower engine?

firstly my thanks to mr Brown for help on my previous question:regarding the lack of spark question..there are two wires that run from the coil into the engine casing(hopefully to points etc.)but access is impeded due to the flywheel.,i cannot remove the flywheel without first removing the "easy start" mechanism from the driveshaft.is the mechanism threaded onto the shaft,or do i need a puller?

The 2 wires going under the flywheel are 1 to the points from the coil, and one from the points to the cut-out. I have an electronic igniton conversion that can be fitted without removing the flywheel, although your original coil must be servicable (most are).

Alternatively, you can replace the entire coil assy with a later electronic unit, cut and forget about the wires going under the flywheel, and connect the new coil directly to the cut out.
