empty water light on indesit is70cs?

Hi, the empty water light on my indesit condenser dryer will not go out ( even though the water drawer is empty). We have cleaned out the filter and the condenser filter and still no joy. This means that the dryer will not heat up. Please help as it is raining!!

TX for the advices.
I looked at the back and found that the white pipe was disconnected.
Now it works again

Hi Jules. Thank you for your useful tip. We just removed the black pipe and let the water drip out. The red is off now and the dryer is working perfectly. Thank you so much for posting this tip. It has saved us a fortune on calling out an engineer.

I did all the obvious stuff like empty the water container, cleaned the fluff and also the water container at the bottom. Also got my hand in the back cleaned excess water and gunk. Took the black water pipe off the back disconnected it laid it on the floor and gave it a good suck (yuk) and some water dribbled out. I then put some washing into the dryer with the water hose still disconnected and the water started pumping out and the red water light went off. So I reconnected the black water hose and it works. No red light on and it is drying warm again. Yay.

Had this problem , inside the pump there's a red rubber blade
Ours had snapped which stopped the water pumping.
Check that , also give it a clean out if required.

impeller on water pump broken

Just fixed mine - as was advised above, a new pump and float unit was required (€40 in rip off Ireland!). It was easy to install. The code for the spare part is C00260640. Good luck.

suck on the black pipe, might of just overloaded the pump

This happened to my dryer and it was caused by failure of the condenser pump. The impeller is a shoddy little piece of plastic and it sheared. I had to buy a pump and float unit (£27).

To test the pump, remove the black pipe going to the water container and you should be able to feel the pump pulsing if you hold the pipe near your face. Or if you lay the pipe on the floor when a load is being dried, water should be pumped out.

We had someting like this. If this is a condenser TD, remove both the fluff filter and the condenser unit and completely clean out any accumulated fluff/gunk in the area that runs between (This is not a pleasant job). Also clean the grill that sits between the main drum and fluff filter. Run the TD for a while (20-30 mins) and the light may go out - ours did.

ust had this problem and managed to cure it by the following method.
1 turn dryer around to access rear
2 disconnect black drain hose at top end (it rotates to disconnect - this is how you would plum appliance in to a drain)
3 allow hose to rest at floor level in a container
4 run dryer - you may find some water comes out
5 return black hose to normal position

for us this fixed the problem
