I have a 92 BMW 325iS and both windows and sunroof have issues. The sunroof opens 3/4 while I hold the switch then have to release and press again and it'll open all the way. Closes all in one shot tho goes past the starting point and pops up in the air. I have to tap it and hope I get lucky enough to get it close while driving. When stopped I can just step out and line it up.

The windows, they are doing the inch down/inch up thing notorious for BMW. The drivers side wont go up if the door is open though. Should I just pony up the dough and take it to the shop or is this something I can reset or resync?

I had same prob with my 320i e36,I had my door panels off loads of times with no joy,paid a windscreen company money to take glass out and put it back in correctly and it worked for about a week then started again,so I ordered the mechanisms from bmw for £60 each and replaced them and now they are as good as new.hope this helps
