AAA1473 induction cooker hob?

I have just installed a AAA1473 Diplomat induction hob I switch on at the mains and the control panel lights up showing all the 8s then goes off, do I have to have a metal pan on before I get any indication, I hear it click when I first switch on and then another click as though a cut out has tripped, is this the norm please?

Hi there i have one of these induction hobs. When i cook on it and it heats up the hob the hob seems to heat up and then slow down. I hear a noise as well but its almost like its stopping. I have never had and induction hob and im unsure if i have a problem with it or not.

Hi John, yes this is normal, you have to have ametal pan on it.The clicks are the safety cut off to save power.Put on a pan of water etc.Turn the machine on, set that element that you want to heat and away it will go.
All the best.
