HOW CAN I FIX MY FORD TRANSIT 100 SWB 1998?

HAS ANYONE AN IDEA OF THE TORQUE SETTINGS FOR THE FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS ON MY TRANSIT VAN 100 SWB 1998.

the nut is virtually finger tight-check play by holding top and bottom of wheel and rock it untill slightest play is felt [with wheel jacked-up ]then put split pin in.yes if you are overtightening them they will soon wear out!

Yes that is correct it is not a four wheel drive model. it's a rear wheel drive only, secured with a split pin and castellated nut. I do not understand when you say they are adjusted until slightest end float is felt. I am having the problem of over tightening them and this is causing the problem of the bearings wearing quickly and me having to replace them again.

taper roller bearings-these are not torqued but are adjusted untill slightest end float is felt then secured with a split pin,. [i take it is not a 4wd model] in castellated nut
