ALL older fords have 2 common faults...
1:fuse boxes!
usual failure faults are, lights, wipers, car turns over but wont fire up, and sometimes switches dont seem to work.
pull out the fuse box and look for a code/part number " simular to **** BAA) on the side... go to scrapyard and find a box with a matching number (there are quite a lot of variants so make sure you write it down correctly) They can be expensive but cheaper than the Ford new part which can be £hundreds.
2: Indicator/Light stalks on the steering columb. The terminals inside become carbonned up and burn out (you cant take these apart so you either need to find one in a scrapyard of go to a ford dealer. Can be expensive if bought new. You need to specify if you have rear wash/wipe on the car.
