Boiler not working on the heating system ?

My daughter has a ferroli combi 77 ff boiler and the water heating side works fine but for the central heating it does not at all work so why would it work on the water system but not the central heating ?
Can it be repaired ?
What cost would be involved?
Is it something that i could repair to keep the costs down?

Hi Mike,

It won't work because she wasn't using central heating for a long time now. I would suggest that tap the pump with the hammer and it will work straight away. This happens every year with me. This happens only when you don't use central heating for a longer period. Nothing to serious about. It won't cost a penny.

It could be a couple of things:- Is the room turned up? if so is it sending 240V to the boiler? Once you have tested these, the fault will probably be something to do with the diverter valve or Div Val switch. Has for the cost of repair, that really would be guess work.
