gas hob without flame supervision?

can i fit a flame supervision device to my existing hob, i live in a flatted development
rod, September 2008
Hi Rod, as far as I am aware, you cannot as it will need the top drilling for the thermocouples etc.If your hob was installed before 1st Jan 2008 then the customers are advised that when they are going to change the hob then a hob with a flame suppression device is now required in a flat.If it was installed after this time then it needs to be changed asap. If the hob is a few years old ,you are not breaking any regulations at present.
