Will a washer-dryer work on dry cycle without water?

Hi, I have an elderly Zanussi WDS1183W washer-dryer and was wondering if I can use the drying part of the machine without having the water inlet hoses connected up.
I know it is a condenser dryer - does that mean it needs a water supply to work?
Thanks
