Faulty shower mixer valve?

I have a Whitewater Aspen (recessed) mixer valve which does not get very hot. What can I do to make the water hotter?

The simple advice about winding the thermostat back to minimum a few times worked for me - at last, hot showers again!! I was about to fork out on a new mixer. Thank you.

brenda...

sounds like you have a sticky thermostatic cartridge.
with shower off turn to fully cold then fully hot a few times.
they stick when left in one position a time.
if not that will need to be stripped down.

When the mixer is turned up to full head the water is only luke warm but the inlet pipe is very hot. I tried to reduce the pressure/flow of the cold feed but this made no difference. I live in a soft water area so I do not think the hot feed is furred up. Also when the shower is used by a second person [shortly after the first] the water is even colder and there is still plenty of hot water in the tank.
