Of course you can. You use a small plastic joint with an RJ45 female at each end - availably anywhere.

However you can also buy longer cables very cheaply off Ebay. 10/100 Ethernet will go up to 100 metres with any reasonable Cat5 cable.

Don"t think you can. Go to Dick Smith or similar and get a longer one. Not expensive.
