I need to put new bearings in my zanussi td 4212 w?

should i attempt this myself, I have found rear bearings and a drum shaft online which i can buy for under £20 . my dryer doesn't turn when switched on.. and if i force the drum round it makes a scraping noise.. a man came out today and said i need new bearings, but now i have found out how much I can get them for I am wondering if I would be able to do it myself.. help please

Zanussi TD 4212 DOES NOT have ball bearings!!

The noise must come from something else. Not much inside for making strange noises. Remove top cover and you'll see (only 2 bolts in the back).
