ELECTRIC CLUTCH FOR THE BLADES NOT WORKING?

I HAVE A CRAFTSMAN GARDEN TRACTOR 20.5 HP KOHLER ENGINE. ENGINE WORKS GREAT BUT I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRIC CLUTCH IS NOT WORKING AT ALL WHEN I PULL THE SWITCH. THE 30 AMP FUSE IS OK. THE SOLONOID WORKS OK. I BELIEVE ALL THE WIRING IS OK. I HAD TO SPLICE ONE OF THE WIRES THOUGH. IT WRAPPED AROUND THE ELECTRIC CLUTCH. NOW IT DOESN'T WORK AT ALL. MODLE # IS 917.251511. IT IS A 46" CUT.

CAN YOU OFFER ME ANY HELP?

Thomas,
You say that you had to splice one of the wires because it wrapped around the clutch. Is this when the clutch stopped working? Check to make sure that some of the wire isn't still caught up in the clutch. Also, if it started after this wire was spliced, replace the wire. The stress on the wire could have caused the wire to break apart inside.
