Although we have put on a new shower head the water comes out through the overflow pipe. When we take the shower head off the water stops coming out of the overflow please can you help was working alright last night.

you have activated the prd valve.
you can buy this part and fit it yourself. (don't make one as this is a safety device your playing around with and you could get scalded by the hot water if it becomes faulty)

you'll need to find why it tripped.
could be a faulty shower head, kinked hose,or a blockage.

I am not familiar with your particular shower but I had a similar problem. There is a rubber diaphragm inside the shower and this had split letting water escape from the bottom of the unit. I made a new diaphragm which cured the problem. If the shower head is removed this will reduce the pressure in the pipe and this will limit the leak.
