how do you replace the Dyson DC04 mains cable/on-off switch?

How do you release the moulding around the mains switch to gain access to either the mains cable restrainer or the on/off switch? Fault symptom:- no power when switched yet fuse ok.

Take off the wand. Drill a small 3mm hole in the rt casing opposite the yellow catch button release. There is no a porthole that allows you to press the yellow button release key with a small screwdriver and pull it upwards. Now you can see a small Torx screw, undo this and the whole switch slides out upwards. Very simple to slide through the cable, cut of 3 inches or so (the broken part) and ret-attach the cable. Very easy once apart.

I have photos, if this site will let me upload them.
This is a good solution because the same access can be used next time the cable breaks, I'm on the 4th.

Dyson = Good vacumn; but lousy build quality!
