How can I fix my Fellowes SB-95C Shredder?

Only had this shredder about 2 years and had to replace the teeth once already.

I was shredding a few things yesterday when something clonked in it and it sounded like it was grinding something. I turned it upside down and had a poke around to dislodge anything that was stuck in the teeth.

Now when I switch it on it goes for about 5 seconds and then just conks out and stops although it works perfectly fine in reverse. Is this fixable or will I need to buy a new machine?

Thanks

We had our SB-95C gears strip twice. As we couldn't get replacement gears the second time around we decided to replace the broken plastic wheel with a steel wheel. The process is described here:

Happy repairing!

I need a new gear set for my FELLOWES SB-95c shedder. Do you know where I can get one or get an upgraded metal gear set as this is the 3rd time the teeth have sheared.

Thanks Jim

The SB-95C is fitted with an aluminium counter-rotating drive converter called the "chadbapsle", this is notorious for sheering under heavy workloads, and the part is not exclusive to the Proform, strangely it's in fact a car part!! The chadbapsle was used on inline4 internal combustion engines from 1992-1997, typically in europian fords. try Ford Escort "chadbapsle" part number e-01002-346-01b, most garages should have at least one, or they can get them in (very common)
