almera cuts out?

2003 diesel 2.2 almera runs fine until take foot off throttle and revs drop to 1000 revs then engine cuts out any ideas

Hi
Common reason for this problem is the throttle sensor is faulty,and will need replacing,but this can also occur if the fuel filter has not been recently changed.
