What is wrong with my Hotpoint FFA97 Fridge Freezer?

Initially it loked like the freezer was fine but the fridge was too warm. I looked on line and it seemed tht it may be icing blocking the duct. I defrosted it and checked the coils behind and there was the remains of some ice over the bottom of the ducts which run from freezer to fridge. Anyway, I put it back together and switched it on. Now it looks like the freezer is not getting to temp also. When it is first switched on the inlet door on the fridge compartment closes and the compressor starts. Seems ok but should the fan in the freezer not be running to try and cool the fridge? The temp then gets to about -7 in freezer and it seems to stop there (checked with indepedent thermometer in freezer!). The first time I switched it on the fan in the freezer ran for a few seconds then stopped - it does not even do that now. Not sure how hot the compressor is supposed to get but it does get very warm (too hot to touch). Would appreciate any advice

Hello,

I'm having exactly the same problem with the same model, dont suppose you have found a solution yet by any chance?

Thanks
