The fridge freezer is second hand. It was transported lying on it's back. Is this a probable cause for it defrosting itself? The Samsung RL33SBNS is a smart fridge. It would be a shame to lose it.
same problem as andy, motorised flap keeps freezing up! shoddy design! have repeatedly dismantled freezer to repair.Finally the flap has broken, any ideas of where to get a spare as i cannot afford to replace freezer already.

Is your RL33SBNS noisy? - ours is. I know about all the normal creaks and groaning noises it does, this is due to a little plastic motorised flap behind a cover inside the freezer compartment that directs cold air to the fridge compartment. On a couple of occasions with us this flap has become iced up so bad that as it moves a bit of ice has got caught up between the flap and surround - its a very bad manufacturing design it shouldnt freeze up like this! - shame on Samsung put us off by samsung appliance again.
