Renault Scenic, message says 'insert card', when card is already in slot. Sometimes it will start but not always. Card/lock unlock function works OK. Help

hi there if the central locking is working ,when you press the buttons on the card ,and it will not start the car ,its possable the card is faulty , if you have a spare card ,try to see if the fault is still there,if you only have one card then you will need to buy anew card and have it programmed to the vehicle.
