Suzuki Katana - Kicks Over but won't Fire - Help?

I have a 1999 Suzuki Katana 50cc Liquid Cooled scooter. It kicks over on the kick start and tries to start on the electric start but it does not fire and won't start. It has petrol and 2 stroke fluid. We have changed the fuel filter/pump thing and tried to clean out the carb. It is sparking from the plug so not sure what is wrong - any ideas? It's not fired at all. Previous owner says it just stopped working one day for no reason.

Hi there it sounds like you need a new piston. It is quite common with scooters. It happened to me a few times with my beta 50cc. cost me approx £130(FITTED). Not a job you want to do yourself. I would leave it to a pro. You need to shop about for a piston for your make and model. Hope this has helped.
