My brother Frank came up from Portsmouth to stay a couple of weeks, the boot on his Volvo S40 will not open. The key turns OK. He has tried everything but no joy. It has central locking. Can you help please???

Try to check if there is any rubber gasket in between the lock and the boot. if yes press the rubber gasket inside with the key or any stick. then try locking and unlocking. it will open. I tried it and it worked.
