How do I fix my Husqvarna model #279090?

I have a Husqvarna 54" deck, 22hp. mower that starts fine but my mower deck will not engage. What could be the problem?

could be a broken cluctch cable w/spring. this is the cable that runs from the lever you push forward in front of the steering wheel to the pulley over the deck.
