Honda will not start after Control shifter Wire change??

Had the "shifter wire" changed on my Honda Accord SE. The car started fine even with the shifter wire corroded, The "Park" locked, so the wire was need to be replace. After shifter replaced, the mechanic could not turn the key in the ignition,( I have a security code to be used...) Onced code accepted, the car just clicked as if no contact was in progress. The battery is new, tune-up done, oil change, new main relay. Should I remove this security from the ignition in order to start the car, or is it something else???
