I have a c5 hpi stuck in limp mode I had a fuel pressure fault I've changed the high pressure pump fuel pressure regulator and the pressure sensor. Before I changed the sensor the car would only start with the sensor disconnected. It now starts but won't rev past 2000 rpm. Please somebody help....

Best thing to do is torch it and claim the insurance, I have a C5 and it is a shocking car, never again!

Ask about your problem on the C5 group on Yahoo, lots of knowledge on there, better than most Cit dealers. To a Cit dealer you are just a gullible source of cash while they happily swap every part till they strike lucky. Go to an indy or ask on the group if there is a guy near you with a Lexia or Proxia diagnostic, most guys who have one will be only to glad to help a fellow Cit owner.

The forum "www.aussiefrogs.com" may be able to help.

I own a 2003 C5 V6 Exclusive (Hatchback) and have had no end of trouble with "ANTI-POLLUTION FAULT". I had Coils replaced as there was an "inherent fault" with the originals . . .should have been a 'recall' of the model to rectify an "inherent fault". At present I have a burnt out Catalytic Converter, and the heap only has 74000 km on the clock !!! What a croc !! Currently looking for a cheaper (than $3500 to $4000) replacement from an exhaust mechanic . . should be < $1000. Any comments (appreciated)

Got a 53 plate C5 HDi estate and it is driving me nuts with the limp mode fault...

Actually been into main dealer for diagnostics and they tell me the computer says there is nothing wrong with it!

Try telling all the other motorists that when it fails at a crucial moment on the road and I have my young children in the car...

Nothing but trouble since I bought it 2 years ago. Is there no-one out there who knows how to fix this fault?????

Would never touch another Citroen

the antipolution fault covers loads of diffrent errors from the lamder sensor in the exhaust to the air polution filter on the engine you need to get the error code via a diagnostics it doesnt have to be done via a main dealer some small indipendants have the tools, i actualy have the tool forthe diagnostics but that doesnt help you, once you have the code just search the net and it should point you in the right direction otherwise citroen will just change parts till they hit the right one.

hi

i have a c5 v6 3litre with engine anti pollution fault its booked in for diagnostics but worried about cost

stuart, February 2010
can i take out anti pillution out and put in a bypass pipe it not needed any
is it

dennis, January 2010
had the exact same problem on my 2003 hpi had to change the cat and loads of 'other' things that went wrong
they basically say its an ECU fault that will cost at least a thousand.......however i disconnected my battery for 24 hours reconnected and thw fault was clear and it was no longer in limp mode (get you home mode)

I have the same fault.

Up to now I've taken it to two franchised Citroen garages, who have charged me over £1000 for 'essential' work, but have not cured the problem and seem more concerned with raising revenue than fixing problems (similar complaints with my daughter's C3).

I suspect it's something to do with the catalytic converter sensor.

best bet is take it to the Dealer garage and they will put it on a computer for diagnostic checks .they will tell you if you have a proper fault or just an error code.thats the best i can come up with on that model
