problems with honda lawn mower?

i have a honda hrb 475 lawn mower it starts ok on choke and will tick over but when i put it in fast run it hunts as if its running rich, it runs ok if i put my finger over the carb air intake any advice please

yer if u look of the H and l screws on the carb u might need to retune it but if not it could be the jets in the carb is semi blocked so u might need to remove it but if that dosen work i would take to the mower shop and ask for achack over and say wt happes
this is usefull but as well not lol itverys n dffent mowers but god luck with te mower

It's running lean, not rich. The main jet is at least partially blocked - possibly as simple as a drop of water in the float bowl. Drain the carb and fuel line by unscrewing the bowl nut. Forget about the drain screw - it's not at the bottom of the bowl and can leave water at the bottom.

If this works, great. If not, you will need to strip the carb.
