My Seat leon FR (1994) indicator problem?

My FR has just developed a problem with the indicator sound repeating rapidly when I am not even indicating. The indicators work properly, but the noise it makes when you are indicating (tick tock!!) goes very rapid when you stop indicating. The rate is as if one of the bulbs has gone but they all work OK. I can only think the relay is plating up??

Identical problem on my Seat Leon 2001. Followed Joe's advice above and tried some wd40 and compressed air. Works a treat. Total cost £7. Time spent 10 mins. Thanks Joe.

The problem is the indicator stalk....trust me.

I have also had this problem,i changed the hazard switch but the ticking did not dissapear. The fault is with the indicator stalk and if you spray wd40 or contact cleaner into the base of the stalk whilst moving the stalk up and down, then use compressed air to blow out any build up of dust and crap.Ive just done it this week and the ticking has so far stopped

I also have this problem, but the relay is part of the hazard light switch, so in effect I have already replaced the relay

Did you get it fixed? Mine is doing the same, it went in for service last week and they changed the hazard warning light switch but it hasn't fixed the problem! Arrrgh! I'm thinking it may be the relay unit but not sure how easy it is to change, I think it must be behind the radio somewhere.
