transit diesel only get 50mph flat out?

my transit 2.5 bananna engine luton struggles on hills not major ones ,and top end is around 50mph on a good day on a motorway and theres not much weight in the back neither,its just very sluggish,
anyone have any ideas please

Stop using cheap supermarket diesel, run a can of forte diesel injection cleaner through the engine(i usually put it neat in a new fuel filter) then try your van. done this several times in various diesels and it works a treat. your van performance will be seriously improved and u will get better mpg.

check fuel filter is clean check exhaust isnt blocked if still sluggish check belt and pump timing

Park it on a hill,take the handbrake off and see if it rolls down the hill,if it does SCRAP-IT if it doesn't then get the brakes fixed.
