My astra's battery keeps dying?

I have a J reg astra merit, sometimes when i turn the engine on its as if my battery is flat but all lights remain bright aliong with the headlights, i have disconnected my radio and some unnesasary things but it still happens. What could be the problem?

I have similar problems
-cold affects it
-battery would just be low, it wouldn't start
now its colder, its completely dead.
-I have removed the cd30
will charge the battery

now, my other concern is, I have an aftermarket phone kit, now, its spliced I think into the loom, its old and I can't even remove it!!
-anyway, if as I am lead to beleive, vauxhals have the perminant live yello t'other way round. might the fitter have them bacwards, and my ohone kit always be searching fo blue tooth connection?

I would start by disconnecting everything you have added not with tape i hope ,do not try to start the car with lights on as this is the 2nd most power Hungary part of your car try to start the car if no luck h ave your battery tested for heavy discharge (this is FREE at any good battery centre)if all ok you must check your connections at battery for tightness also the earth connections at battery and earth to body at lower engine/gearbox.If all is ok your starter(the most Power Hungery unit in the car)or solenoid is at fault.Hope this helps, good luck.
