i have replaced spindles and washers but the shower continues to leak do I have to replace pipes that come out of the wall this seems like a major job. The shower has been iving problems for awhile and each time the washers have been replaced it gets better for a short while but after the last time I replaced the washers and spindles the problem leak is getting steadily worse, do I need to call in a professional?

Hi Jo, You could try cleaning the small holes in the shower sprinckler head. Sometimes these become blocked with limescale & creat back pressure, causing leaks from the conections, where you have been replacing the washers i.e. the next weakest link in the system.
