MOT question?

Hi My MOT is due up in a couple of weeks and I have been looking at a website to get an idea on how bad it might be. It keeps mentioning a "servo" can anyone tell me what it is, is it a part of the car or macanic slang for something? I am at a loss and need to know what I am looking at.

dont worry about the servo.they rarely fail the mot,you would be unlucky to have it fail on that.

if pedal goes to the floor it will fail -it should travel down a bit further, when engine started

Hi there refering to your brake servo mounted to the bulk head under the bonnet.
They,ll test it first with the engine off by pumping the brake pedal then with there foot on the pedal starting the engine there foot should go to the floor this shows the servo is working.
Second they look at it under the bonnet for security and leaks.
