flashing glow plug?

the glow plug sign has just started to flash on my skoda fabia. is this just a simple plug change or something more technicle?

Check your brake light bulbs !!! Sounds daft, but that is what I have found.....

Normally it is indicating a plug down. they are quite easy to check using a multimeter usually one thousand ohms is normal higher or lower resistance would indicate a problem. they could be checked without removing just disconnect the rail.
