Unfotrunately, beyond checking the oil level, there's not a lot you can do.
In the Countax, these transaxles are operating right at the top of their rated power transmission capacity - and if you have a PGC attached, the axle hydrostat pump wears to the point that there's no drive. The same transmission in a Westwood will last forever.
If you do decide to replace the transaxle - to provent ot from happening again, make sure the PGC (if fitted) is adjusted to just 'skim' the top of the cut grass. Most people seem to have it set to rotovate the lawn after you cut it!
