How to fix slow cold water fill in F&P 708 smartdrive?

The cold water fill is only trickling into the machine. Hot water fills as normal.

Tap water pressure is OK and not blocked by the hose filter.

Thanks Lincoln Appliance. Indeed the answer. A simple job to change the inlet valve purchased from a mate in the electrical repairs business.

Cheers.

Don't know what the two previous people who replied to your question are on but I suppose it takes all sorts. The answer to your question is that the cold inlet valve is faulty. This is a fairly common problem. Easily fixed by replacing the complete inlet valve.

It's the foofoo valve.

The 708 smartdrive is fitted with an aluminium counter-rotating drive converter called the "chadbapsle", this is notorious for sheering under heavy workloads, and the part is not exclusive to the Proform, strangely it's in fact a car part!! The chadbapsle was used on inline4 internal combustion engines from 1992-1997, typically in europian fords. try Ford Escort "chadbapsle" part number e-01002-346-01b, most garages should have at least one, or they can get them in (very common)
