how can i fix our smeg dishwasher model snz 642 s-1 type 10028?

The dispenser is not opening during the wash cycle. What could be causing this and how do we fix it.

I had a similar problem with a different model. I found out the cover was catching slightly on one side and just shaved a bit off with a modelling knife. Works fine now. hope this helps. Although I have different problem now!
