vaillant atmoMAG water boiler only reaches 46 deg?

The flame dies down slightly when it reaches 46deg, ive tried changing the water flow and increasing the flame control but that doesnt work. the boiler is 4 years old.

There must be a faulty thermostat somewhere as it thinks ity has reached the correct temp, hence it shuts off.
