I have recently experienced this problem although the scanner works from the pc. I have read somewhere that this may be related to using a wireless router and I have recently been using a wireless USB adapter so these could be related. I've also heard that removing the router doesn't help. I haven't tried removing the adaptor as I've now boxed up the printer ready to take back to the shop.
I might try Lexmarks website for an answer but I believe they'll just suggest reinstalling the printer which I've done time and time again.
