HOW CAN I FIX MY FORD ESCORT 1.8 SI 1997?

WHEN I SLOW DOWN AND DIP THE CLUCH AT A JUNCTION OR TRAFFIC LIGHTS THE CAR STALLS AND IT IS A CONSTANT FIGHT TO KEEP IT RUNNING BUT ONLY WHEN I STOP.

OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS MY AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN FLASHING BUT THIS PROBLEM IS INERMITANT.

i had this problem on my Ford Escort 1.8 Si 1997 untill last week when it went wrong proper the engine kept cutting out when you lifted off the clutch and if you were indicating at the time they would go mental the AA came out pluged it in to there diognostics machine and came up with nothing so he towed me to a garage it turned out to be a pretty big earth from the rear lights the garage told me that the earth was causing other electrical systems on the car to go mad this probably wont help with your fault but thats what was wrong with mine the rear lights have been sorted and the car runs fine now.
