Central heating Radiator valves?

CAn any body tell me what is causing a green residue
to form on my central heating radiator valves (Taps).
How best can I get rid of it.

It's oxidization and quite normal, copper is a great conductor of both hot and cold, but as it's central heating I would look for a leak around the spindle gland, have you tried tightening the gland nut,you may have a tiny leak.
