Hello Margaret,
It's possible the blower motor has shifted on it's shaft, either forwards or backwards and is rubbing the housing where it's enclosed. Has this dryer been moved recently? You will have to remove some of the panels that cover the dryer in order to observe how it's constructed inside, if just rubbing on something, it can probably be ajusted manually. There may be a nut loose on the shaft where the blower is.
Also if you want to try this; move the dryer around a bit, forward, backward, side to side, just to see if sound changes or stops.
Hope this Helps!
In Christ,
