My bt synergy 2100 handset wont register with the base,?

Its been in a box for about a year, I tried going through the manual stuff, but the pager button does'nt seem to do anything. Any ideas?

A year in a box!!!! try charging the handset you might get somewhere then. or phone the help desk number in the ins book and they will tell you how to do it.
