it ran out of diesel, so was told to change the fuel filter and put some cleaner in the filter house, all done but wont start now!! any ideas please

You need to bleed the air out of the fuel circuit does the vehicle have a ball on the fuel circuit on engine somewhere near cambelt area if so you will need 2 people first squeeze the ball several times till it becomes hard to squeeze you will then need the other person to crank the engine while still squeezing the ball it can take several seconds of this and should then start if no ball it could be the electric pump in the tank not working check fuses under bonnet
