Maytag gas dryer #pyg2200aww?

After the dryer has been used for a while it won't restart again. It sounds loud when it cools down and am able to get it started again. The noise sounds like it might be coming from the motor. Is the motor thermally protected? Is there another type of thermal protection? Is it just a bad motor?

Hello,

From what you decribed it certainly sounds like a motor tripping out on its overload. A bad motor could run for a while then shut off then cool down and run again before shutting off again.
