Samsung ER-290 cash register error code E9?

I have cleared the paper jam .(It was pretty jammed up) (as per manual saying that is what code E9 means). I have unplugged it from the mains and re-plugged it in, but I still get continual bleep from cash register and E9 code, despite having unplugged the machine and re-plugged it in. I have even tried clearing the RAM but do not seem to be able to do anything to clear the error code. Could the paper jam have damaged a sensor? - can I disable the sensor? - or do I have to leave it unplugged for 2 months to forget everything ( I do not need to keep any history )

Hi Fairy,
If you have done a RAM clear, then that should definitely have stopped the problem. That suggests you have a timing issue with the gears (the teeth have been damaged, or mis-timed). There are timing marks on most of the gears to allow you to allign them, but the first thing to check is whether the small thin plastic roller is in the upward position. This is the one that rolls against the little numbers on the drum. If not, it will need stripping and re-timing.
