LEXMARK 3150 COVER NOT CLOSED?

I replaced my ink cartridges and now I get a message that says. "please close cover." the lid is closed! I've tried restarting my computer, unplugging and unhooking the printer. I’ve changed ink cartridges. I even tried uninstalling and re-installing the software. Nothing seems to work. Also the printer will not do any other functions because it says "this option is not available because the printer cover is open", and I can not turn the printer off by pressing the power button – I can only turn it off by unplugging it. I have changed cartridges hundreds of times and have never had this problem. Please help... Thanks.

Hello Guys,Its not broken it just clips on (very Cheap Setup),I just tore mine apart pretty easy to do,but wedging something there isnt really the answer...Try getting the piece out and using needle nosed pliers to reconnect...the long tip goes on top...Hope this helps..

if you like you may contact me... fxspider2000@yahoo.com

I had the same problem. It is becasue a plastic piece is broken off. I made a piece to wedge into the place to hold the switch closed all the time. I glued a small piece of wood stick on to a piece of plastic in order to place it in the area to hold the switch. It works. You have to take off the top, there is a finger that moves up and down when you open the lid, and it pushes the plastic piece down to close the switch, that plastic piece is what breaks.

Same sort of problem perhaps - turn your printer upside down and shake it and see if anything drops out - if it does find out where to put it.
