We have an Hotpoint Aquarius WF321 1200 Spin. The past couple of days, whatever program we set it on, the on light comes on then flashes intermittently and the 'rinse hold' and 'mini load' lights come on and also flash intermittently. The drum does not spin but water starts flowing into the drain outside. The drum does not fill up. Whatever we press on the machine this cannot be stopped and goes on for about 5 minutes. Then it stops. What is wrong?

I have checked that there is no blockage in the pump (as specified in the manual).

it sounds like the carbon brushes in the motor are at the end of there life .these need to be removed from motor and checked for wear. if there is only a few milimitre left these need to be changed. also the carbon soot needs cleaning off. also comm on motor needs cleaning and new brushes fitted. as the change in resistive load. will cause the lights to flash. good luck.
